Me and My Fear by Francesca Sanna
This is an excellent book for broaching the issue of fear and anxiety. A little girl moves to a new country and starts a new school, and as she does't speak the language she finds settling in difficult. Her fears are depicted as a white 'creature' clinging on to her, and it grows or shrinks depending on her feelings in different situations. Yet the book doesn't set out dismiss fear, but rather to help us see that it has it's uses (in keeping us safe from danger, for example) but it is about how we manage our fear and keep a healthy balance. Suitable for ages 3-7.
